Fourth Dimension
I have written before about fourth dimensional traps. They open inexplicably. Suck items into the fourth dimension and spit them out at some point down the road in inexplicable places. Last month I lost my reading glasses. Couldn’t find them. Searched every surface in the house, top to bottom. Bought replacements, as in plural, a box of five from the giant online retailer.
Yesterday, I went to play an album I’d purchased that afternoon. There on top of the turntable were the lost reading glasses back from the fourth dimension. They weren’t there before because the turntable sits on a credenza right below the TV, a TV that I watch. The credenza holds the amplifier that produces sound from the TV. It is hard to believe I could sit there watching TV, fiddling with the amp, and not see my glasses. So, the only answer is the fourth dimension, and I wish the glasses could talk to tell me what they saw.
