Rainbows, Candy and Cats

Green has never been my color except it’s the color of money and the color of nature and both of those are big pluses. Unfortunately, I’ve had more exposure to the latter than the former, especially now that I never really see a dollar. Who among us actually handles money these days. It’s more of a concept than a real thing. But I can’t say I miss standing in line to deposit a paycheck. It’s nice to have the funds magically appear.

It gives me more time to stand around and admire nature who is having a good time this year in my neck of the woods. The grass is green, flowers are up and blooming, and the landscape is verdant and full of more shades of green than an artist might choose to paint for fear it would look unrealistic. Three cheers for water and soft sun, because the days are still relatively cool from all the moisture.

But today is the first day of June, the traditional first day of summer. It’s also LGBTQ Pride month. I’ve heard stories that Pride month irritates some people. Maybe they should calm down and just go celebrate something else. There’s lots to choose from. June is also Men’s National Health Month, National Great Outdoors Month, National Candy Month, National Pollinators Month, National Adopt a Cat Month, National Homeownership Month, and National Iced Tea Month. It’s a month for everyone. Talk about diversity.
