It’s a fine chill morning in the Hill Country. The cool air feels good and if I were camping, I’d be drinking coffee around a fire. But I’m not camping, I’m just standing on my porch feeling good, drinking coffee from an insulated mug, while two cats nibble on their breakfast treats.
If you’re interested, it’s trash day. I put out the can last night. It’s mostly full of yard waste, biomass for the landfill. I trimmed up the Turks Caps beneath the Mexican Plum and trimmed grape vines from the Flameleaf Sumac. I’ll do more this winter when things die down and all the leaves fall off. But for now, I’m happy with the tree and my tidy, well-mowed yard and the coolness of the morning air.
