A pair of feet wearing black shoes in clear water.

I wish I could get a good shot of the little wren sleeping in the cranny of my cedar porch pole. But I think it will take more effort on my part. I’ve tried sneaking up, but apparently I’m not a good sneaker. I think I’ll need to set up my tripod with my old school SLR camera. Or, I could just let the little wren sleep and keep my mental picture. Either way I’m glad to have him and happy he feels comfortable.

In other wildlife news, a new black cat is on the scene. My next door neighbor thought it was mine for the longest time as did I, but yesterday I had time to check it out. I saw my cat eating, and walked over to see her cat sleeping on her porch. So, it’s official. The cats are alive and there are two of them. I think people are using our little road as a kitten dumping ground.

And the gate to the maintenance road for the national park next door is now closed thanks to the government shutting down, although it might be closed for maintenance. So, I should probably check before I go spouting off. I’d hate to spread misinformation. Although, maybe this counts since I’m writing before I check. Hard to know. I’ll walk over this morning and see what’s up.
