Waiting on Weather

The redo of the guest rooms is down to decorations, putting up pictures. It’s a fun part. To ensure the area gets used while I wait for a guest to show up, I made one of the rooms a music room. To get furniture in the music room, I rotated chairs from the front room to the music room and from the bedroom to the front room. That little dance decluttered my bedroom, which is a nice side benefit.

Having shared that little bit of personal news, I’ll also say I miss having my son by my side. Of course, I’m happy he has a nice place of his own, but I think it’s okay for a dad to be a little selfish. I liked watching him work on his vehicles (he’s a master mechanic), I enjoyed the work he did in and around the gardens, and I really enjoyed the music that drifted out of his rooms when he practiced.

But that was then and this is now and off I go to count the rain drops. Enough have fallen during the recent rains at my place to measure nearly two inches when gathered together, and we might get more today and tomorrow. I’d say that’s a real plus and a good way to prepare for summer. Of course, the creeks are still dry and the lake levels low, but maybe that will change if a spring or two starts running. We’ll keep our fingers crossed while we wait for the Super El Niño to fire up.
