Captain’s Log: Stardate 220228
The first leg of the trip is in the books. It was a short jump from my house to Ozona. This is Texas. It took 2.5 hours.
Hiking Log 1
We’re off again. This time to explore the great unknown. Well, not actually, we’re going to Big Bend, and it’s pretty well explored. But there are some trails we want to walk.
Three Things
I feel like such a grownup. At my age. It’s all because of my new dishwasher.
Nothing Really
It’s hard to believe I had a day full of something yesterday but really nothing special to write about or at least nothing I feel like sharing right now.
New Mission
Went to the hills south of town last night to make sure the sun got down okay. It did. No big show.
Thinking of You
I was lucky as a young parent. Our first house was built by my father-in-law, the second husband of my late wife’s mother. They then built a house about seven houses down and around the corner, because that’s what developers do.
Still Babysitting
Episode 1: I get the kids into the car. We’re going to breakfast. The oldest is having trouble buckling her seat belt. No one rides in my back seat.
Babysitting
Its difficult to fathom the energy put out by two small children when they’re glad to see you.
Last Light
Went to watch the sky yesterday in the hills just south of town. It was mostly blue with scattered clouds.
The Return
Starfleet command was right to tell me to take some time off after my extended trip to Red River New Mexico. I was tired.
Trip Log 9
We landed last night, and I made my way home. It was nice to sleep in my own bed.
Trip Log 8
Captain’s Log, Stardate 2022.2.8 We loitered, we lollygagged, we laid about yesterday morning. We took our own sweet time getting ready to leave.
Trip Log 7
Captain’s Log, Stardate 2022.2.7 Homeward bound. Slowly. Made it to Alamosa. More music.
Trip Log 6
Captain’s Log, Stardate 2022.2.6. The final day of the festival is in the books.
Trip Log 5
Captain’s Log Stardate 2022.2.5. The cold persists. The music endures. The companionship maintains.
