It rained yesterday and I forgot it was my anniversary. No penalty to pay for either event. The gauge this morning shows a little bit more than .3 inches fell, and my wife passed away in 2020.

I’ve probably written about hugs before, but I’m going to do it again. Met with a group of friends last night to cook dinner and there were hugs all around, coming and going. It’s a huggy crowd, and I love it. It’s the magic of the human touch.

Golf. I have pursued the sport with varying degrees of success over the years. Years marked mostly by massive failure. You’d think hitting a ball lying still at your feet would be a piece of cake. Think again.

My shopping excursion went off without a hitch yesterday. Accumulated goods without breaking the bank. Bought two books, two pair of socks, a three in one hair, face, and body wash and hand cream.

I’m going shopping today. A bookstore. A UPS store. A mall. Maybe a golf superstore. I have to map it out. I want to hit them in some sort of sequence. I’ll even work in a lunch.

Slipped into the pool yesterday. Sat in my chair float with my legs propped up on a noodle. The current carried me along, mostly in a counterclockwise circle, because our pool is round.

Status update. Bought a five pack of reading glasses. Bargain price. One pair by my chair. One pair by my bed. One pair in the car. Two pair of spares. Here’s where we stand. No idea where the pair by the bed went.

A while back my weight made itself down to around 175. The diet I was following to feed my late wife, worked wonders for me.

Rode up the Devil’s Backbone yesterday on the way to a friend’s house in Gruene. Got stopped at the top by a gathering of sheriff’s vehicles with lights flashing. There was an ambulance and a fire truck, too.

It’s late. The little granddaughter is asleep on the couch. I stayed up late. Listened to music. Made music. Visited with friends. It was a nice, long evening.

There was the creak of the door in the utility room followed by a soft, high, “hello,” and I knew my daughter was in the house.

Yesterday I played my first round of golf since getting my new right eye. Wonder of wonders, I could actually track the flight of the ball as I hit my shots, wayward or not.

Talk about answered prayers. Yesterday the wind laid down, and I laid down with it. Together we floated in a pool of blue water beneath the sky.

I imagine there’s a good explanation for why all the air is rushing through Texas in such a hurry. But I wish it would stop, or at least slow down. You know. Stick around a while. Visit.

Spent most of the morning lying in bed thinking it was Sunday. No idea how that cropped up. I was also thinking about the virtual necropolis in my head for all the dead I know.

Grandpa’s big weekend with the grandson is over. Grandpa is feeling a little let down. Like, what do I do today? Things, of course. But not really fun things.

Yesterday evening, as I sat side-by-side with my grandson at the island in our kitchen, eating dinner, he put his seven-year-old hand on my shoulder and said, “Just two guys eating dinner.”

I had a multipart strange dream last night. I missed a flight to which I had already checked in and was standing by my assigned seat for a time. I helped a lady and her friend find a rainbow.

I reach for my glasses every morning although I no longer need my glasses. The new lens in my right eye is working fine and I see well except for reading.

Spent most of the afternoon yesterday on my knees behind a heavy-duty desk that held recording equipment. My job was to pull cables, announce what was on the label, and then pass it through to the owner of the desk, my friend, Larry, to plug into the new gear he had acquired.
