Cold Front

There’s a cold wind blowing this morning. A front came through yesterday. There was no rain, however, which is a bit of a disappointment, but at least it now feels like January. There’s no telling how long it will last. I suppose I should pay more attention to the weather, but I think if something significant was on the way news of it would bubble up in my social media stream. Although, there’s a lot to be said for paying attention to the weather, especially in winter.

About the only thing the weather does now is keep me inside. I spent most of yesterday working on my new book. I got the first draft printed out and it’s ready for editing. Although, it might be a tough slog because it’s about grief, and re-reading those posts bring on intense waves of nostalgia. It’s a little bit like looking at old pictures, they mostly stop me dead in my tracks as all the memories come flooding back. But in the coming weeks, I’ll put on my professional hat and get to work.

It feels good to have a project in hand. A thing to work on. Especially, a creative thing. Which is why I enjoy my morning routine, and this little piece of work. I’ve also started editing and posting videos, and that’s entertaining, although it seems mostly to be the realm of the young, which is probably as it should be. But the internet seems to be a place of infinite space, with the kids playing in theirs, and me in mine. So, there’s no harm in an old man cadging a few tricks from the young, and having a go at relevance.
