Making Errors

Wow. I just had a moment. Prepared my coffee. Hit brew. Stood looking out the window. Realized there was no cup. Whoops! Inexplicable madness? Nope. Distracted. I realized I’d made an error setting up a product in my storefront, and each cup ordered was costing me money. Not a ton, but enough. I’m not looking to become an oligarch with these mugs, I just want to publish a book. I’ve been busy this morning making corrections.

It’s an odd thing about software. I can usually figure out how it works, and get it working. But since I don’t do it everyday, I’ll go to bed, sleep, time will pass, and then I’ve forgotten what I knew. That was the case yesterday. I failed to read all the fine print, consider the contingencies, and make appropriate decisions. I think I’ve got things fixed, but we’ll see. The other thing about software is its whack-a-mole tendencies, fix one problem and another pops up. But it feels like old times, so I’m good.

Meanwhile, I want to thank the early adopters who rushed to my store yesterday. It’s gratifying to have friends like that who take the time to buy a mug to help me out. After all, I'm fairly certain, if they’re anything like me, they already have enough mugs with which to drink their coffee. But I also know it’s nice to have a new one on occasion so I get it, and again, I appreciate the effort. And with that I wish everyone a blessed day, and I’m heading back to rediscover my software mojo.
