Big Dog
On January second, I wrote about getting tangled up in the Meta/Facebook advertising tools. Basically, it was a note to myself that I needed to back up and make sure I had a better understanding of how the system worked. If ignorance is no excuse of the law, it’s really no excuse in business. But yesterday, I did a cursory check of my bank account and realized I was getting refunds from Meta. Here’s a quick thank you to whomever pulled that trigger. I feel less of a dunce.
I guess reaching out to them via the company help desk did some good, even if I mostly chatted with an AI bot. My plan now is to start looking for resources who can explain the system and maybe comment on what approach works best. I’ve had good luck with ChatGPT in similar situations, most recently trying to figure out the video formats used by various social media platforms. You may have noticed that Gatewood Press is now publishing short reels in support of my blog. Although, most of you know by now that the man behind the mask is me.
Still, a press has to start somewhere, and it might as well start with an author. By the way, my next book is scheduled for May. I’m looking for other books to publish, too, but just-in-time publishing has changed the world, and most people don’t need a press to get their book out. Besides my pockets probably aren’t deep enough to do a stranger any good, so it’s probably for the best. So, Gatewood Press may end up being a total vanity affair, and that’s okay with me, too. I’m having fun, big-dogging it around my living room.
