Warm Weather
Yesterday was bulky trash day and I had a touch of bulky trash. So, out it went. I still have a lingering brush pile, but the thing about brush piles is that they decay. So, over time my brush pile will eventually become organic matter. It’s not the tidiest way to keep a yard but I don’t really consider my little plot of ground to be a yard in the traditional sense. Although, I have decided to buy a small mulcher to help keep the brush pile from growing.
We sure could use some rain, but that’s a common complaint, especially in summer. These days it seems as though summer lasts from June to October. This year a giant heat dome is sitting over the southeast portion of the country. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, this stretch of unseasonable temperatures follows the warmest June through August in the contiguous United States in a 132-year record. I guess there’s nothing we can do about it, however, because it’s just nature.
I also read that tornado alley appears to be moving east toward a part of the country where no one has basements and lots of people live in mobile homes. It’s a result of the shifting dry line that also has moved east. That will take some major adjusting although the denizens of the old tornado alley are probably breathing a sigh of relief. I guess there are always winners and losers in every situation. The only good news for my neck of the woods is that the Super El Ninō is waiting to give us a wet winter. I hope El comes through.
