Weather Report

My goodness. The weather is turning. A north wind is blowing in a cold front. Over the next several days we’ll have highs in the 60s, lows in the 40s, and memories of summer will be blown out the door. And that’s it for this archaic weather report. Because these days all one needs to do is roll over in the morning and look at a phone to see what’s up when it comes to the comings and goings of Mother Nature. Even TV is outdated.

No complaints from this end though. I grew up in the days before TV. And I like getting my weather as a personal delivery. And I don’t miss the constant blather of a TV set, although I still miss my late wife, who did like TV. Love gets you past a lot of idiosyncrasies. At least with a TV it felt semi-communal, and you could talk during the commercials. It’s a different story when everyone is jacked into their own private network. And I don’t know what it will eventually mean for our society. Sometimes, it doesn’t feel good.
